Took Some time off this week. June 29th was the end of my contract with Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance. It was interesting but work is always stressful (guess that's why they pay me instead of the other way around). So we went up to the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Clear Lake, Iowa.
It was a great time and we met a lot of great people.
Our schedule has changed around a little. Though I promised my wife I'd leave the laptop at home she said nothing about my cell phone so I got a couple calls in resulting in some changes to our plans. Looks like our last day here in Iowa is Aug 4th. We'll be flying down to Baton Rouge LA. to talk with some friends about what we are planning on doing in India. Then on Aug. 8th is the big day off to India.
Just a brief note to thank all those that made our time at camp an enjoyable experience. Also a note of thanks to all those that promised to help out with the work ahead in one way or another. Either by volenteering to come over and help with the children, by supporting or donating materials several differnet people have recently decided to join in with what we are doing and help or start planning to help.
Thank you
David Strickland

Re: Took some Time Out
I know where Clear Lake is! We moved from Mason City 2 years ago. I am enjoying reading your journal. and August 4 is my birthday! My husband and I have talked recently about doing some kind of orphanage thing. We have 4 children at home right now. Will you stay there forever? Will you be able to take time to return to States and see family? I wish you happy, safe travels and hope your work in India goes well!

Re: Took some Time Out
Thanks for reading along hopefully it'll somehow help you help others.
At the moment getting out of the states seems to be the problem. :) We'll be returning back stateside on occasion. My wife is about to have a new baby boy so my parents would likely break out the bloodhounds if we didn't bring him back stateside sometime soon.
