Ways anyone can help

  • Adopt- This isn't for everyone but is it for you? The best way to help the orphans of the world is to bring one into your life and home.
  • Tell others- keep up with the orphan news from this site and others and talk about it with your friends and family. Remind them that there are children that need help.
  • Write to your government officials. Many countries like India have combersome laws that prevent overseas or even in country adoption. Many contries have policies preventing contact between two countries these restrictions must be removed in order for others to get in and help.
  • Ask your politicians at election time about the declining international adoption rates and how they plan to encourage more citizens to help.
  • Write to orphanages and care providers ask about the conditions at the orphanage, over crowding, food supplies. Let us know what they say so we can post it to the site.
  • There is a lot of corruption and misstreatment a lot of Non profits setup For Profit. If you have an orphanage you've visited write up a review and send it to us. If your planning on traveling overseas make it a point to find an orphanage in the area and drop in for a visit.
  • Feed and talk with the kids in your own area. You can't always tell a homeless child from a regular child get to know the children around you help them if you can.
  • Check for a local foster care provider in your area that might appreciate some help. Even in the most developed countries in the world there are homeless and forgotten children living in the shadows reaching out to them may be as easy as looking for them.

I am a retired educator form Immaculata High School a school founded by the Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conceptions. I have also travelled to Consuelo with High scholl students to meet with Sister O''Shea and experience life in the Bateys. I am presently working as a Chaplain at Sacred heart High School but I will be at home for part of the year. My wife and I have been interested in getting involved with an orphanage in the Dominican Republic. I am also a qualified Educational Administrator. We would like to be involved with the existing orphanage and the building of the larger site which will house 500 children. Please respond to my request at your earliest convenience. God bless.

I would like to help a child in Guyana, even adopt if possible. How does one go about this. I was born in Guyana but now reside in Canada.

Hi, I will be traveling with close to 100 families with seniors from Eden Prairie, MN to the Playacar at the end of March. We would like to do a service project and are looking for an organization we can support. I understand Casa Hogar is near by. I thought we could have each senior bring a donation of sorts to provide to an organization. Any thoughts? Maybe a school supply drive?

Hi, I and one of my friend are both together willing to start a small orphanage home. I have read all the rules and legal formalities about starting the orphanage, everything so far regarding the funding place and things in it is well planned and would be put in shape soon. But what we were thinking was about the childrens, ofcourse we would like to help the helpless and parentless children, but where do we look for those children who are in need? Do we have to speak to some trust or do we have to adopt them? I am sorry I am really blank about it, any help on the question would appreciated. Regards, Ritu Roy

Mr. Strickland, Hi. My name is Jessica. I am the representative you spoke with from Verizon Wireless. I just checked out your site to see what it is all about. I just wanted to tell you that I admire you and think what you doing for these children around the world is just amazing. As I mentioned over the phone, I am going to school to be a middle school teacher. I hope that someday I will get the chance to make a difference and be an inspiration to others as you have been. Keep in touch and let me know if there is anything I can do to contribute to your organization. I have little money to give, but if there is anything else I can help with I would love to hear from you! Sincerely, Jessica
